@coachtony I agree. Federation and syndication has nothing but upside for authors and readers.

On other instances, there seems to be a strong general distrust of Meta (not unexpected for Mastodon users) but I’ve also seen people sharing wild theories about Meta is just user data harvesting and will Embrace/Extend/Extinguish ActivityPub. A vocal, but not large, contingent have even decided to pre-block Threads from ever talking to their servers. I find it a bit reactionary and over the top.
