birdwatching thoughts on development, technology and design

Hi, I’m Cody Bromley.

I’ve always been the “techiest” person I know. My fascination with computers began in kindergarten when I made my first trip to my school’s computer lab. I learned how to troubleshoot stuck Macs before I knew how to tie my shoes. My dream job as a kid was always “computers”, but as I got older I realized that’s more complicated.

A love of technology evolved into a love for telling stories with technology. I earned by undergraduate degree in journalism and was editor in chief of my university’s newspaper, but a career in the field never materialized for me.

I eventually found a path into technology and now my day job is leading software engineering at Prelude building the future of funeral planning. By night and weekend, I work on some hobby projects and write here about development, technology, and whatever else I can’t stop thinking about.
